The Hudson Bay pattern is classic.
Man I am a sucker for Gingham. Jack Robie shirts are well constructed too; my blue from them chambray is going strong as one of my favorite shirts.
The new Brooklyn Circus x SHIPS varsity blazer is a thing of beauty. Just look at it. Made of Loro Piana wool, it merges the thick fabric of a traditional blue wool blazer with the silhouette and trimmings of bomber and varsity jackets. It’s then completed with gold buttons and the Brooklyn Circus crest and is lined with Japanese striped cotton, much like a blazer. This is one of the most inspired and graceful combinations of existing traditional menswear designs going. You can check out the details at the BKC and at Esquire.
Oh and check out those BkC x Ebbets Field flannel ball caps that Ouigi the Bearded Man and Travis are wearing. They aren’t available right now but, I’m told, will be soon.
Most Precious Blood - Less Than Zero
Floral patterns have been popping up a lot in menswear over the last two seasons. What really seems to make the best ones stand out, at least for me, are vivid colors– either the flowers themselves, or the background colors. What also really matters is finding an appropriate scale for the floral print, for example, The Brooklyn Circus did a great job with their summer line of blue and yellow floral shirts. This tie also (not by them) is excellent.
